Developing Confident & Competitive Barrel Horses for the Long Run

Developing horses into athletes—and riders into confident, capable jockeys.

For 18 years, Jennifer Ballard and the Supercharge Performance Horses team have developed barrel horses and riders through training that goes beyond the barrel pattern. We build confident, consistent horses with the foundation and skills to handle the demands of competition, then help their riders learn to maintain that training through continued coaching and lessons. Our horses and riders have earned numerous year-end awards, competitive placings and winnings across multiple divisions. From futurity and derby prospects to horses competing alongside their owners, the goal is to develop a competitive team that can continue progressing together.

  • Barrel Horse Training

From campaigning your horse, training one for you to run or finding you a horse to lease or purchase, we’ve got you covered.

  • Coaching & Lessons

Developed over 15 years, our coaching program incorporates lessons for each student right where they are at. Whether you are a beginner who thinks they might like to barrel race, or a seasoned campaigner, join our team today! Adults and kids are welcome!

  • Colt Starting

How your young barrel prospect is started sets them up for the rest of their lives. Each colt receives the attention and education that they need to be successful in their next stages of training. Confident and comfortable horses under saddle is the focus of our colt starting program!

Get to know Jennifer:

“CONFIDENCE. DISCIPLINE. PASSION. EMPATHY, And a willingness to keep attempting until you succeed and learning from each failure is what propels a leader and athlete to the top of their game.”

Hi, I’m Jennifer and this is how I conduct myself and my business.  I built my business through trial and error, failure after failure, and never lost sight of where I wanted to go and the clients and horses I wanted to serve in the future.

In my training, I focus on what the horse is trying to tell me that they need.  If I can’t figure it out, I ask and research until I can get that horse what it needs to be successful. That could be physical, mental, nutrition, or different communication. In my lessons, I focus on helping a rider become aware of their own body and how their form relates to the function of the horse.  In other words, certain inputs equal certain outputs and as a rider and competitor, you MUST become aware of what you are inputting to your horse.
